Christmas Card Spotlight: The Pants

11.29.10

To think that I didn't offer these last year is unbelievable. I was on the fence this year and thank goodness I jumped off--or stayed on, I'm not for sure which way it goes. Nevertheless I just had to show you some samples of The Pant's Christmas cards.

To check out more of Michael and Dawn, owners of Mr. Rooter, check out their post here and feel free to check out their facebook page!

Last Day of the Sale + My Christmas List

11.29.10

Today marks the last day of this year's Thanksgiving sale. If you haven't heard all the juicy details, please click here to find out more information. I would like to thank everyone who has taken advantage of the sale so far!

On a side note, I figured it's time to get my Christmas list around. I keep informing Santa that I have been a very good girl this year and I would be even better if I had the following items on or before Christmas. Preferrably before Christmas because there are certain this I just can't wait for.

First up: The Camera Lens Mug. I totally fell in love with this mug back in the Summer. I loved it so much I even blogged about it. Click here to be taken to the post.

Next: Cake in a Cup. Ahhhh yes, the infamous cake in a cup gift. Yes it may be a little cheesy, but sometimes it's all about the cake and a cup and when you combine the two, there are no words to describe it. Here's the blog post to get you all caught up.

Finally: Shootsac Cover (Spicy). Do you remember waaaay back when I bought myself an assistant? Well actually it wasn't an assistant but close to one. Anyway, Shootsac just came out with some fancy new covers and I'm head over heels in love with Spicy. I'm totally a Spicy chick. Some day's I'm digging Cozy, but I always fall back on Spicy.

So there you have it Santa. Remember, I've been a good girl alllllll year long! :)

Erickson's Family Session

11.27.10

It was a beautiful Saturday morning in October. The leaves were falling, the sun was shining, and the Erickson's were ready for their close up. We gathered at the stone bridge at Bertha Brock Park in Ionia and created photography magic.

There was something special about their session. It was filled with so much love. I could not believe how lovey their kids are to one another. It just made my heart melt. After their session was completed, we gathered more family members for a HUGE family portrait (more on that later) and then something special happened....

The session came to a close and just as I was packing up my things, they asked me over to their house for pizza. A family after my own heart. I have never been the type to turn down food and after photographing their wonderful family, I couldn't leave them just yet. I said yes and felt like I was part of their family. My day was perfect.

Cris, thank you so much for making me feel so welcomed to your family. I loved every second I spent with you and your family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Here are a few of my favorites images during their session. Enjoy!

Black Friday thru Cyber Monday Sale

11.26.10

Black Friday Sale

In true tradition, it wouldn't be Black Friday without a special. I recently ordered a sample for the studio and absolutely fell in love it. I love looking at new products and thinking of ways I can incorporate them into my sessions. I decided that since I have photographed quite a few family sessions recently, it would be nice to have a sample in the studio. The Proof Book is complimentary with any session during this sale and retails for $50.

The book is a 5 x 7 and the custom cover is hardback.

I love the rounded corners. It gives it such a nice look.

I also love the spiral binding.

Happy Thanksgiving

11.25.10

Today is the day to gather round the table, indulge in all the traditional fixings, reminisce with family, watch some football, and take a well deserved nap. It's also a day of thanks and I have PLENTY to be thankful for.

While I intend to do all of these things twice (today and tomorrow), I just can't help but feel all warm and fuzzy inside. How lucky am I that I get to surround myself with the people I love and eat until I almost explode? That right there is probably the closest day to perfection I could ever imagine. Well that and if the Detroit Lions manage to pull a win. It will be a Thanksgiving Miracle!

So this Thanksgiving I'm thankful for my beloved family, my fabulous friends, my loyal pets, and of course........a full belly. But deep down inside, I'm most thankful for storage containers. Because leftovers ARE THE BEST!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Emily's Senior Session

11.24.10

Emily, Emily, Emily. What else can I say about her. She's one amazing athlete with an incredible outlook on life. She's rough, tough, and can hold her own against anyone on the football field or basketball court. Trust me on this one....she's plays them all.

Emily's session first started out at the studio. During that time, it was a torrential down pour and we kissed the outdoor session goodbye. Trying to find time to schedule another session for an athlete is quite difficult but somehow we managed and we headed for the trails in Greenville.

Emily and Josie, thank you so much for coming to the studio. I had such a wonderful time getting to know you both and I have nothing but high hopes for you Emily.

Here are a few of my favorite images of Emily. Stay tuned at the bottom for a slideshow.

200th Blog Post Celebration

11.23.10

Alright, alright, alright. I dropped the ball. Big Time. My sincere apologies. I was looking forward to this post and I've got nothing extravagant like the 100th celebration. I seriously could kick myself for not getting a head of the curve. I can't believe I let the procrastinator in me come out...but what's done is done and I've got to get caught up on my blogs.

So let's pretend that instead of having some crazy birds or one amazing trophy that I presented to myself (because that's what cool people do), I post a few pics of me in action. Some behind the scenes action shots so-to-speak. I would love to give a HUGE shout out to Jamie for tagging along and capturing these shots :)
Behind the Scenes

Yes. I do happen to talk WAAAYYY too much with my hands.

November 15th

11.15.10

Today is the day where there is a disturbance in the wildlife force. When dawn breaks, you can hear the echoes of gunshots near and far. Today is also a day where boys become men and many stories and traditions about the hunt will be revisited. Oh and let’s not forget the huge breakfasts and the unlimited supply of chili, bean soup, and homemade bread. Walkie talkies will get their 15 minutes of fame and of course the buck pole will display proud trophies. Sometimes it isn’t about the hunt, but making memories—although it is nice to enjoy a nice venison meal.

Happy hunting to all the men, women, and children out there. I hope you get to tag your buck.
