Shank Family Session

6.1.10

If there is one thing I love, it would have to be sassiness! If you have a photo shoot with me then you know exactly what I'm talking about. I had the wonderful privilege of photographing three of the most sassiest ladies I know. It was such a wonderful day! Lost glasses, getting busted while trespassing, and freezing temperatures were all in the mix, but it was fun nonetheless.

Jodie, Shelbie, and Shalie, thank you so much for making my day at the studio. I can't wait for Fall!!

Here are a few of my favorites during their session. To see more images, click here to see them on facebook.

The Power of Chuck Norris

5.28.10

The Power of Chuck

To me there are some things that never get old. Take for example Groundhog’s Day, Family Guy, and the Office. I can watch these shows over and over again and still laugh out load! If it’s funny, it’s funny whether I’ve seen it one time or ten thousands times.

Now Chuck Norris is of course no exception to the rule. I’m a sucker for Chuck Norris jokes and there are some good ones out there. I came across a website that has a ton of Chuck Norris jokes that I thought some of you may appreciate.

Here are a few to get you going….

“Chuck Norris does not get frostbite. Chuck Norris bites frost.”

“Chuck Norris can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.”

“Google won't search for Chuck Norris because it knows you don't find Chuck Norris, he finds you.”
Believe it or not, I actually did the Google search trick and it was so awesome…that was about three months ago and I'm still laughing just thinking about it.

If you want to check the website out for yourself, click here or on either of the pictures.

Anyway thought you may need a good laugh.

Enjoy this holiday weekend everyone!

All Work, No Play

5.27.10

So for the past few days, it has been work, work, work. There is light at the end of the tunnel however. All this work I've been packing into this week will finally pay off for a well deserved four-day weekend!

I while I'm still working my little fingers to the bone, I did manage to look in a different area and find something else working just as hard. Although some people don't consider spiders very desirable, I did appreciate how hard it was working to complete its web. So we may be very different, but we have something in common...

The RillSki Family

5.26.10

When Rachel and Jordan found out they were expecting, everyone was so thrilled. The baby plans were in full swing and everyone couldn't wait to for baby Emmalee to arrive....even Emmalee herself.

She was so excited to see the world that she came into this world premature. Rachel gave birth to precious Emmalee at 24 weeks. Weighing in at only 12.5 ounces and measuring only 9.5 inches, little Miss Emmalee Elaine was just a beautiful and as precious as can be. When discussing Rachel's vision for their family session, I was so thrilled that Rachel suggested angel wings. I couldn't agree more.

One of the coolest tattoos I have ever seen is the one Jordan has on his shoulder. I just about started to cry when I first saw it. It is the exact size footprints of Emmalee's little feet when she was born.

This session is definitely one of my most memorable sessions. I had such a connection with Emmalee and despite her initial challenges in life, she's happy, beautiful, and loves to moves around...hence her nickname 'Wormalee.' When I first heard that nickname, I instantly fell in love. I absolutely love nicknames!

Here are a few of my favorites images from their session. Thank you so much Rachel and Jordan for allowing my to photograph your amazing family.

Grilling Never Tasted So Good

5.25.10

So technically speaking, I realize that it is not summer but it sure feels like it to me. These past few days have been HOT and I noticed many people with sunburns. Last night I had a hankering for something different than our normal hamburgers & hot dogs on the grill. I headed to the grocery store and came out with ingredients to make kabobs.

Mmmmm.....Grilling never tasted so good and it's times like these I'm glad Todd's the Grill Master so I can sit back, relax & soak up the sun! :)

The Power of Camo

5.24.10

Ha!! It's so funny to think that what turned out to be a joke actually was a pretty neat idea. I ordered Todd and I some t-shirts for our soccer league shoot. Knowing that Todd loves to wear hats, I was planning on getting him a special hat made but when I saw there were camouflage hats available...my jaw dropped to the floor!

So I ordered one for him. Then his buddies saw how awesome they were and they ordered some too! I'm happy to report that although it was initially a joke, it paid off!

So my advice to all you ladies out there....Never underestimate the power of camouflage.

Senior Rep: {Ashlee}

5.21.10

Everyone, I would love to introduce you to Ashlee. Ashlee is my new Senior Rep and I couldn't have ask for a more perfect Rep or a more perfect session. Being a Senior Rep comes with great responsibilities: have an awesome personality, posses great social butterfly skills, and most importantly--know how to rock the camera.

One of the cool benefits of being a Rep is receiving not one, but TWO photo shoots. Of course some other benefits include a killer discount and the ability to receive free prints, but really when it all boils down to it...it's all about the photo shoots. Here are just a few of my favorites.

A new feature I am implementing this year is a slideshow. Seems how I can't possibly include all these pictures on the blog, I figured a slideshow will be a nice touch!

Random Impulse {Bubble Machine}

5.20.10

It's been a couple weeks since my beloved Dozer was on the blog. Believe it or not, I get requests for his appearance on here! Yep...what can I say, he's absolutely adorable!

Seriously though, I went shopping yesterday for some special goodies for some upcoming photoshoots and I just couldn't help myself. I saw this little tiny bubble machine and I just had to see if it actually worked. Well it did! It was pumping out bubbles something fierce and of course I just had to let Dozer be the model.

He was having such a wonderful time trying to pop the bubbles!! After about five minutes...he was getting tired and was just letting them blow by....the best $6.75 investment I made to make me smile :)

The Coolness of Cardstock

5.19.10

Because these are too cool not to share....

I get so excited when I see packages waiting for me on the counter. It's like an adrenaline rush and when I open it up and look at it for the first time, I start to dance The Happy Dance! It's more like I jump up and down and clap my hands...but it's all the same.

What kind of photographer would I be if I didn't love the products I sell? Well it just so happens that ordering Open House Announcements are one of my favorite things to order. I love to see the look on my clients' faces when they see them for the first time (and sometimes they dance The Happy Dance too ;)

Believe me, these items are Ah-Maz-Ing!! These cards can also be used for birth announcements or any type of announcement that needs that extra pizazz!!

My Moment

5.18.10

Sometimes I have to pinch myself. I realize that Mother Nature is one of a kind and is not a force to be reckon with, but sometimes I am in complete awe of her beauty. The lake was calm, the air was warm, and the sunset...well it was perfect.

I look at this picture and in a way it doesn't even look real to me, but everything about that evening was real and there is absolutely nothing I would change. This is my way of remembering it forever.

Back to Reality....

5.17.10

So here it is Monday morning and back to reality. Todd and I just returned from our annual mushroom excursion in Boyne City and even though I'm reluctantly returning back to work (my day job unfortunately) it does feel good to be home.

I always thought taking a vacation from vacation was a good idea and one of these days I will actually take my own advice. It really takes a toll on not only us, but all the pets. So even though I'm still in a daze, it's back to business as usual. A nice long weekend was in order and much needed. Here's a pic of me and Woody a couple years ago!! If you would like to visit the old post of last year's mushroom festival, click here.

100th Blog Post Celebration!!

5.13.10

Oh my goodness!! Be prepared to have your socks knocked off!! This post deserves a celebration. I really didn’t know what to do and how to celebrate other than conducting a photo shoot!!

I decided that I am going all out. You know how the TV shows have parties, cakes, and gather all the media to celebrate their 100th episode? Well it’s kind of like that—only it’s a much smaller party, no cake, and as for media…well it’s just me and Haylie.

First and foremost, I really would like to thank all my bloggies out there who have stuck with me throughout my blogging adventures! Because really, if you didn't read, who would? I would also like to thank....oh-wait this is starting to sound like I won an Oscar or something….

Here’s how we celebrate the 100th blog post Leilani Tucker Photography style:

Why yes....I did win an Oscar....well something similar ;)

And this was the worst part.....the dreaded clean up. But it was all worth it in the end!

100th Blog Celebration!!

Seriously though, it’s so cool to look back and remember all the wonderful people whom I photographed. I also love remembering the personal blog posts and the total random posts. This is the perfect time to reflect seven of my favorite blogs during the last 100 posts. They mostly consist of the personal side—only because all of my clients are my favorite posts of course! :)

7.) Grand Opening Celebration—this is of course where it all started
6.) Thank You 2009—a glance at all my 1st year clients
5.) An Unexpected Surprise—a special gift from a very special person
4.) Happy Easter—the cutest Easter Bunny you’ll ever set eyes on
3.) Testing My Waters—gaining confidence to invest in myself
2.) Mr. Turtle—a really touching story that is so heartfelt
1.) Meet My New Assistants!— one of the best April Fools jokes of all times

Thank you so much for celebrating with me! I look forward to see what the next 100 have in store!!

Have a great Thursday.
